Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy

Kaas, P. & Van Belle, R.A. 1998. Catalogue of Living Chitons (Mollusca: Polyplacophora). Leiden : Backhuys 204 pp. [56] (although this species was placed in Notoplax by Kaas & Van Belle (1998), it does not conform with the genus as defined by Gowlett-Holmes, K.L. 1991. Redefinition of the genus Notoplax H. Adams, 1861, and recognition of the monotypic New Zealand genus Pseudotonicia Ashby, 1928 (Mollusca: Polyplacophora: Acanthochitonidae). Journal of the Malacologogical Society of Australia 12: 77–88; its generic status is currently uncertain)
