Peters, J.L. 1937. Check-list of Birds of the World. Cambridge : Harvard University Press Vol. 3 xiii 311 pp. [142]), monotypy takes precedence under ICZN Art. 68].
Type species:
Psittacus nestor Latham, 1790 by monotypy (as Nestor novaezelandiae Lesson, 1830, =Nestor meridionalis (Gmelin, 1788)).
