- Termes insularis Walker, F. 1853. List of the Specimens of Neuropterous Insects in the Collection of the British Museum. Part III. – (Termitidae – Ephemeridae). London : British Museum pp. iii 447-585. [521] [authorship of insularis is often ascribed to White, to whom Walker attributed the name: 'Termes insularis, White, Zool. Erebus and Terror, fig. 11.' In 1853 White's figure was unpublished; it finally appeared in 1874, as the second part of White, A. & Butler, A.G. 1846. Insects. pp. 1–51 pls1–10 in Richardson, J. & Gray, J.E. (eds). Walker did not include White's illustration, and the detailed description that forms the indication for the specific name must be attributed to Walker].
