[264] (Note #487: Neodiphthera Fletcher, 1982. Neodiphthera was proposed by Bouvier (1936) who failed to designate a type species. Under the Code, Art. 13(b), every new genus-group name published after 1930 must be accompanied by the fixation of a type species if more than one species was included. This was first done by Fletcher in Fletcher and Nye (1982) and, Neodiphthera accordingly takes authorship and date of publication from Fletcher's action. The species occuring in Australia has been variously attributed to Neodiphthera papuana (Rothschild, 1904) or N. albicera (Rothschild & Jordan, 1908) by unpublished sources but differs from these species. A thorough revision of the genus is needed)
