Remarks

Nainereis grubei from South America as described by Hartman (1957) differs in having 17 thoracic segments (16 chaetigers) and branchiae from the 7th segment (chaetiger 6); Day's 1977 single juvenile from Lord Howe Island is perhaps a different species?
