Family NEOTRICHOZETIDAE Balogh, 1965

Introduction

The family Neotrichozetidae includes a single genus and either one or two species, from Argentina, New Zealand and Australia (Schatz et al. 2011; Subias 2011). They are found in grass and on trees, including Nothofagus (Norton & Behan-Pelletier 2009). The original Australian record of Neotrichozetes spinulosa associated with ants (Banks 1916) must be considered as unconfirmed. Unidentified species of Neotrichozetes have been recorded from Australia a number of times (Colloff & Halliday 1998), and unidentified Neotrichozetidae were also reported by Malipatil & Blyth (1982).
