Introduction
The Nannastacidae are a small family. Nine genera and 68 species are known from Australian waters.
The monophyly of the family was confirmed by the phylogenetic analysis of Gerken et al. (2021).
Diagnosis
Males are indistinguishable from males of Bodotriidae.
Female. Antenna 2 minute, much smaller than antenna 1, peduncle with 2 articles. Mandibles truncate. Maxilliped 3 exopod present or absent. Pereopod 1 simple. Pereopod 3 exopod absent. Uropod endopod with 1 article. Telson not articulated, fused to last pleonite. (Generated from Watling & Gerken 2002)
