Southern Stuttering Frog

 

Introduction

The species was previously considered a southern population of Mixophyes balbus before Mahony et al. (2023) demonstrated that it was a distinct species following a detailed molecular, morphological and acoustic study.

Southern side of the Macleay River, NSW south to the Cann River catchment in East Gippsland, VIC
