Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult feeds on amphibians, reptiles, cane toads, cattle, dogs, fowl and horses; adults caught in light traps; immatures found in ground holes, freshwater and heavily polluted water holes containing decaying vegetable matter.
