Introduction

Lamprell & Healy (1998) synonymised Arca bistrigata and Mesocibota luana leading to synonymy of the genus Nipponarca with the former taxon as type and Mesocibota with latter taxon as type to become synonyms. Since, Mesocibota is a senior name it takes preceedence.
