Introduction
Wilson and Johnson (2021) recorded Melanitis phedima (Cramer, [1782]) from Australia for the first time, based on a series of 6 specimens (5 males, 1 female) collected from Christmas Island. The specimens were placed under the nominate subspecies Melanitis phedima phedima (Cramer, [1782]), which occurs in Java, Indonesia. The species ranges from India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, China and Japan, through the Malay Peninsula and the Philippines to Indonesia.
