The species here included have the venation of the hindwing cell like that of Ecnomectena Turner, 1926, but the male antennae are bipectinate. M. fasciata (Walker, 1855) has been placed in Comana Walker, 1865 by Turner (1926c) (as Susica Walker, 1855) and Hering (1931) and M. dnophera (Turner, 1931) in Parasa Moore, [1860] by Turner (1931). If they were to be included in Comana Walker here, it would have to be replaced by Mecytha Walker, the older name)
