Introduction

The Mymarommatoidea is a very small superfamily which contains only a single family, Mymarommatidae, with 14 extant species (3 Australian). Many previous authors have placed the Mymarommatidae in the Chalcidoidea; recent publications have looked at their relationships to the families of Chalcidoidea and have considered the Mymarommatidae as deserving its own superfamily (Gibson, 1986; Huber, 1986; Gibson et al., 1999; Noyes, 2002).

Further information is given in the introduction to the family Mymarommatidae. It is also worth looking at the general information given in the introduction to the Chalcidoidea.
