Family MURRAYIDAE Guidetti, Gandolfi, Rossi & Bertolani, 2005

Introduction

The family Murrayidae was erected by Guidetti et al. (2005) and includes three genera: Dactylobiotus R.O. Schuster, 1980, Macroversum Pilato & Catanzaro, 1988 and Murrayon Bertolani & Pilato, 1988 (Guidetti & Bertolani (2011).

Dactylobiotus dispar is a cosmopolitan species first found in ponds in the Botanic Gardens in Sydney by James Murray in 1909. Members of the genus live in freshwater.
