Diagnosis
Valves smooth, elongate and weakly calcified. Shell in form of cigar, but ventrally flattened. Surface smooth. Fused zone relatively narrow. Inner margin and line of concrescence separated at least anteriorly. Marginal pore canals simple or branched. Normal pore canals simple. Hinge rectodont or lophodont. Antennula 5, 6-segmented, all segments long and slender. Maxillula with two or unjointed palp.
