Family MICREREMIDAE Grandjean, 1954
Introduction
The family Micreremidae includes six genera and 20 species world-wide (Schatz et al. 2011), with the greatest number of species in the Afrotropical Region (Subias 2011). Subias (2011) placed the genus Phylleremus in the Micreremidae, but I here follow Behan-Pelletier & Walter (2007) in provisionally placing Phylleremus in the Adhaesozetidae. The family now includes the genera that were previously placed in the family Fenicheliidae. The species that are well-known are arboreal, and shelter in cracks in bark and other protected situations (Norton & Behan-Pelletier 2009). The family is known from Australia on the basis of a single endemic species of Plumobates from rainforest litter in Queensland, and a record of an unidentified species of Micreremus.
