There are very many references to this name in the literature and they undoubtedly refer to an array of species. Much of the literature on material collected in general surveys and on pests, especially that dealing with domestic species and associated with stored products, refer to almost any occurrence of Liposcelis species as Liposcelis divinatorius, Liposcelis divinatoria or Liposcelis divinatorium. In many such cases the name seems to have simply been applied to any species having the general appearance of the traditional 'booklouse'. The name no longer appears in taxonomic papers and it seems very unlikely that it could ever be reliably applied to any particular species)
