Species Leptus muscarum (Linnaeus, 1758)
Introduction
Johnston & Bancroft (1920) recorded "larval mites, a red one probably Acarus muscarum Linn." attached to flies in Queensland. This probably refers to a species of Leptus, but its identity cannot be established with any confidence.
