Introduction
Family with five genera and ca. 50 species, mainly tropical (Hoffman 1982; Ishii et al. 1999; Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Geoffroy 2003). A key to the genera of Lophoproctidae is given in Ishii et al. (1999).
