Family LITOBOTHRIIDAE Dailey, 1969
Introduction
The family Litobothriidae is a very small family consisting of a single genus in which a typical tetraphyllidean scolex is absent, but is replaced by a single apical sucker (Euzet 1994). These unusual cestodes are parasitic in lamniiform sharks and the family is represented in Australia by a single species.
