Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy

 

Introduction

Kolbasov & Newmann (2005) reviewed the familiy and divided it into three subfamilies.Their subfamily arrangement is followed here with a necessary nomenclatural correction.

 

Diagnosis

Alimentary canal without gut teeth (gizzard); mouth cirrus well developed; labrum of same relative size as rest of well developed mouthparts; burrow aperture a tapered slit; caudal appendage present or absent.
