Introduction

The Lampropidae are a small, cold-water family of 15 genera and 86 species. The family is distinctive with members easily recognised by having at least three terminal setae on the telson. Two genera and four species are known from Australian waters.

The monophyly of the family was confirmed by the phylogenetic analysis of Gerken et al. (2021).
