Introduction
Moore (1958) established Kyarranus for two northern species without defining generic differences other than referring to an earlier diagnosis of Philoria, however this diagnosis also included the southern species P. frosti making it unsuitable for diagnosing a genus of northern species and making the genus invalid (see Cogger et al. 1983, Cogger 2014).
