Larva: herbivore (associated flora: Ruellia tuberosa L. [ACANTHACEAE]; Hemigraphis alternata T.Anders [ACANTHACEAE]; Hygrophila angustifolia R.Br. [ACANTHACEAE]).

Introduced plants include Hemigraphis alternata, Ruellia tuberosa (Acanthaceae).

Type data: lectotype ZIUU sex unknown*; Linnaeus in the original description did not indicate the number of specimens described, but did mention a previously published figure; Corbet, A.S. 1949.
