Ecological Descriptors

Adult: predator, terrestrial.

 

Diagnosis

Length 1.0-1.2 mm. Head with V-shaped vertexal sulcus connecting vertexal foveae; antennomeres IX slightly wider than antennomeres VIII, antennal clubs formed by apical two antennomeres; interantennal bridge distinct between antennal tubercles; gular area swollen, lacking median carina. Elytra with two basal foveae. Profemora obliquely flattened on anteroventral faces. Males with eyes formed by about 20 facets; visible sternites 4-6 (VI-VIII) flattened in medial third; visible sternite 4 (VI) with bisinuate excavation beneath apical margins of 3 (V) (only visible when specimen cleared and on slide), 3 (V) with fringe of sparse setae along posterior margin, 4 (VI) with median truncate peg at base projecting slightly beyond apex of 3 (V), with long, apically clubbed spines originating near lateral margins of bisinuate excavation and folding medially into recessed areas when at rest. Females with eyes formed by about 2 facets.
