  Type species:

   Astrea palifera Lamarck, 1816 (Veron & Wallace (1984) erroneously designate as type species Acropora palifera (Dana, 1846)) by subsequent designation, see Veron, J.E.N. & Wallace, C. 1984. Scleractinia of eastern Australia V. Family Acroporidae. Australian Institute of Marine Science, Monograph Series 6. 1-483 [153].

Introduction

Isopora was elevated from subgenus to genus level by Wallace et al. (2007)
