Subspecies Ischnocoelia occidentalis occidentalis Giordani Soika, 1969

Introduction

Borsato (2003) provides comments on 5 specimens in the Museum of Venice (Italy) labelled as paratypes collected in different localities in Queensland, that might not belong either to the nominal form or the subspecies blumburyensis: he noted they "[...] differed immediately for a minor extension of the spots, the tendency of being yellow and not ferrugineous brown, and non the least for importance, the males had a coarse puncturation on the clypeus much more intense and impressed than in the specimens of Western Australia. At a careful examination of the genitalia, the aedeagus keeps an almost identical shape, whereas there is a slight difference in the appendix of the basivolsella".
