Introduction

The handling of the name of this species by Niedbała (2000, 2006) is confusing. Niedbała (1993) created the new combination Indotritia breviseta (Berlese, 1923). Indotritia breviseta Niedbała & Colloff, 1997 is therefore a junior homonym and must be replaced. Niedbała (2000) listed the name of this species as Indotritia brevisetosa Niedbała & Colloff, 1997 nov. nom., which cannot be correct. Indotritia brevisetosa is a new name with authorship Niedbała & Colloff, 2000 (in Niedbala, 2000). Niedbała (2006) showed its name as Indotritia brevisetosa Niedbała, 2000, as a replacement name for Indotritia breviseta Niedbała & Colloff, 1997, which is also incorrect.

Balogh & Balogh (2002) established Indotritia coloffi (sic) as a replacement name for Indotritia brevisetosa Niedbała & Colloff, 1997, apparently unaware that the junior homonym had already been replaced.
