Species Trigonopterus aequalis (Pascoe, 1872)

Lectotype BMNH ♂, Tamworth, New South Wales
Comment: Pascoe (1872) did not designate a holotype nor specify the number of specimens examined but gave two localities, “Cape York” and “Rockhampton”. Only the syntype labelled "Cape York ?" could be located in the BMNH, as such this locality is doubtful for this species. Riedel & Tänzler (2016) found Tamworth to be an accurate locality for this species and designate a lectotype to achieve stability of nomenclature.Subsequent designation references:
