According to Orr and Fliedner (2011) the correct spelling of the species group name under gender agreement is Hypochrysops piceatus.

Larva: attendant ants, herbivore (associated flora: Allocasuarina luehmannii (R.T.Baker) L.A.S.Johnson [CASUARINACEAE] Bull-Oak, Buloke).

Larvae are attended by an ant species, Anonychomyrma inclinata Lewis & Sands 2021
