Lectotype AM KL22829 ♂, Coomera, QLD (Brisbane to Cairns given in original description; strictly Coomera is not between Brisbane and Cairns but Coomera is sufficiently close to Brisbane to make it possible that Waterhouse used Brisbane as an approximation).

Comment: Waterhouse in the original description mentioned a male and several females but not a type; Sands, D.P.A. 1986. A revision of the genus Hypochrysops C. & R. Felder. Entomonograph 7: 1–116 [60] (referred to a holotype and gave type information).
