  Comment: Waterhouse & Lyell in the original description listed three males and two females, types were stated to be in the Lyell collection and cotypes in the Waterhouse collection, these are interpreted all as original syntypes; Sands, D.P.A. 1986. A revision of the genus Hypochrysops C. & R. Felder. Entomonograph 7: 1–116 [52] (type information on specimens in the AM Waterhouse collection); (the NMV web site does not list any types in the NMV Lyell collection).
