Comment: Miskin in the original description mentioned both sexes but not a type.Type locality references:
Sands, D.P.A. 1986. A revision of the genus Hypochrysops C. & R. Felder. Entomonograph 7: 1-116 [49] (stated that there is no locality on the lectotype's label but it is believed it came from Brisbane, QLD).

Ecological Descriptors
Larva: attendant ants, herbivore (associated flora: Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh. [ACANTHACEAE] Grey Mangrove).
Extra Ecological Information
Larvae are attended by a small dull black ant, Iridomyrmex sp., pupation occurs in either rolled leaves or crevices in the branches or trunk of the host plant.
