Species Hylaeus (Euprosopis) husela (Cockerell, 1910)

 

Introduction

"Cockerell named the species Prosopis husela in 1910, but Michener amended it to Hylaeus huselus in 1965. However, Cockerell stated that husela was a Malay word for eleven, so Michener should not have treated it as a Latin adjective. When Terry Houston revised the genus in 1981, he used the name H. husela without comment, but presumably for the reason I have just given …" [M. Batley, pers. comm. 2013]
