Remarks

Hydroides diplochone Grube, 1878 is possibly the senior synonym of this name, but only rarely has the name been used in the literature (e.g. Zachs 1933). According to H.A. ten Hove (in litt. to P. Hutchings, 2001), there is some doubt about the synonymy, as Grube's description is inadequate for comparisons and the type material is probably no longer extant.
