- Hinea Gray, J.E. 1847. A list of the Genera of Recent Mollusca, their Synonyms and Types. Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 15: 129-242 [138] [name attributed by Gray to Leach MS, and thus clearly an incorrect subsequent spelling of Hinia [Nassariidae]. However, Hinea has consistently been treated in the literature as a separate name].
