  • Maceris Modeer, 1793 [Kongliga Vetenskaps Akademiens nya Handlingar 14: 174; junior objective synonym of Chama].
  • Psilopoderma Poli, 1795 [Testacea utriusque Siciliae..., 2: 253, 258; Psilopododerma (Agassiz, 1847, Nomenclator Zoologicus. Index universalis: 313) was suggested to be a more correct spelling, but was not used as valid, and is not an available name. See also Psilopus].
  • Lacinea Sowerby II, 1842 ["Humphrey" ms; in syn. (Moore); G.B. Sowerby II (1842, A conchological manual, ed. 2: 168) has an entry for "Lacinea Humphrey". Not available under Art. 11.5.2: listed in a dictionary as equal to Chama "Lamarck" [Chama Linnaeus, 1758], but not used as the valid name of a taxon.].
  • Gryphus Gray, 1847 ["Humphrey" ms; Neave, Nomenclator Zoologicus, has an entry for "Gryphus" Gray [ex Humphreys MS] 1847, Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 15: 193. However, Gray merely cited "Gryphus Humph. MSS. 1797" in the synonymy of Chama. It is not an available name].
  • Macerophylla Mörch, 1853 [subsequent misspelling; Macrophyllum (Gray, 1847, Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 15: 193), Macerophyllum (Mörch, 1853, Catalogus conchyliorum quae reliquit D.A. d'Aguirra et Gadea, Comes de Yoldi, 2: 36), and Macerovillia (Paetel, 1875, Die bisher veröffentlichen Familien- und Gattungsnamen der Mollusken: 118), all cited in synonymy, are incorrect subsequent spellings].
