Introduction

The identity of this species is uncertain and the genus needs taxonomic attention. The species is only known from the type material collected in the wet tropics of North Queensland but it may be widespread along the coast of Queensland. As with H. hastata, it was described from specimens collected in grass.

Diagnosis

Immaculate green, of a yellower hue than the preceding (H. hastata). Veins of wings blackish brown. Differs from H. hastata by the vertex being only about as long as the pronotum and mesonotum. Eyes more prominent. The radial is forked nearer the base than is the cubital, this nearer the base than the brachial. Length: 11.5 mm. (Kirkaldy 1906)
