Introduction

This is the common dictyopharid in eastern Australa. Its bright green colour makes it difficult to see in grass but it can be readily swept. A revision of the Australian Dictyopharidae is needed to determine if the populations of H. hastata in the North Kimberley region of Western Australia and in Tasmania are the same species as the form found along the eastern seaboard of Queensland and New South Wales.
