Family HALCAMPIDAE Andres, 1883

 

Diagnosis

Nyantheae without basilar muscles. Cylindrical elongate body commonly divisible into three regions: physa, scapus, and capitulum. Scapus with tenaculi or papillae. Sphincter mesogloeal, simple or double. Mesenteries divisible into macrocnemes and microcnemes; 6 (rarely 8) pairs of macrocnemes.
