Family HETEROCOPTIDAE Fain, 1967
Introduction
The Heterocoptidae is a small family of poorly known mites that are parasites of beetles in the Afrotropical, Australian and Oriental regions (reviewed by Haitlinger 2009). The family includes 13 genera and 29 species world-wide. Only one described species is known from Australia, although OConnor (2009) recorded what may be a second undescribed species.
