Introduction
Gyliotrachela is distinguished from other Australian pupilloid genera by the combination of a detached trumpet-like last whorl, prominent apertural barriers, dark colour and a conic-trochoidal shape. All the species known currently are associated with limestone.

Diagnosis
Shell tiny, conic-trochiform, prominent peripheral angle and subperipheral sulcus. Spiral threads on whorls. Last whorl trumpet-like, flared, detached from shell and deflected upward. Aperture with varying number parietal and palatal teeth; umbilicus open. Colour dark brown.
