  • Psammobia Lamarck, 1818 [Histoire naturelle des animaux sans vertèbres, 5: 511; Placed on the Official List by Opinion 910, 1970, Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature, 27(1): 16. Psammolia [Gray, 1821, London Medical Repository, 15: 237] is an incorrect subsequent spelling. "Psammobia Risso, 1826" [Histoire naturelle des principales productions de l'Europe méridionale, 4: 375] is listed in Neave, 1940, Nomenclator Zoologicus, 3: 953, as a separate entry; Risso used Psammobia twice, in the family "Nymphacées" (p. 350) and in the family "Les solens" (p. 375), without indicating whether he intended to establish a new name; for the latter, see Psammosolen. See also Haplomochlia].
    Type species:
     Tellina fervensis Gmelin, 1791 by subsequent designation.
