• Falcunculus frontatus (Latham, 1801).

Introduction

Following Christidis and Boles (2008: 194), the taxa previously recognised here at species level are moved to subspecies status under F. frontatus; the CAVS number assigned to F. frontatus s. str. is retained for the subspecies F. frontatus frontatus, and a new number allocated to the broader concept of the species. The treatment of these taxa at species or subspecies level is uncertain and more work is required to resolve their position (see Christidis & Boles, 2008; Dickinson & Christidis, 2014; del Hoyo & Collar, 2016).
