Diagnosis

Four ovaries forming a species of cross or ring.

 

Notes

The genus Evagora was proposed by Peron & Lesueur (1810), for two species which are not recognised today, E. trtrachira and E. capillata. Haeckel (1880) included E. tetrachira in the synonymy of the Mediterranean Aurelia aurita (p. 553), and included E. capillata in his list of obsolete names (p. 649).
