Introduction

The Australian Eupodidae are poorly known, with only a single identified species. The one known species, Linopodes antennaepes, occurs in cultivated mushrooms, but its ecological role there is not fully understood. At least 80 species are known world-wide (Walter et al. 2009), suggesting that more Australian species remain undiscovered. Unidentified species have been recorded from Australia a number of times as listed for each genus, and unidentified Eupodidae were also reported by Heatwole et al. (1981), Greenslade (1985), Kinnear (1991), Walter et al. (1994), Osler et al. (2000), Kinnear & Tongway (2004), Adolphson & Kinnear (2008), Callan et al. (2011), Proctor et al. (2011) and Majer et al. (2013).
