Holotype whereabouts unknown ♂ (Fabricius in the original description stated that it was described from Jones Icones and collection), QLD (type locality incorrectly given by Fabricius in 1793 as India; this species was almost certainly collected on Cook's first voyage at Cooktown and taken to England by someone in the crew, other than Banks)
