Introduction
Thi subspecies was recently recorded from the northern Torres Strait on Dauan, Saibai and Yam Islands (Lambkin & Knight 2007); most specimens were collected from Dauan and Yam Islands where the subspecies appears to be resident and sympatric with E. tulliolus tulliolus (Fabricius, 1793). Individuals that are phenotypically ‘intermediate’ between E. tulliolus tulliolus and E. tulliolus dudgeonis occur on these three northern islands, as well as on Campbell and Thursday Islands (Lambkin & Knight 2007).
