Lane et al. (2020) recorded the species Euploea phaenareta (Schaller, 1785) from Australia for the first time based on a single specimen collected from Dauan Island, Torres Strait, QLD, on 25 FEB. 2020. The specimen was identified as the subspecies Euploea phaenareta callithoe Boisduval, 1832, which occurs on mainland New Guinea and some of its adjacent islands.
