Ecological Descriptors

Adult: inquiline, terrestrial.

Diagnosis

Length 3.4 mm. Body covered with short, thick, curved setae, setae on dorsum about three times as long as wide. Head with base broadly and distinctly emarginate; distance from posterior margin of eyes to head base about half eye length, with tuft of thick setae posterior to eyes. Pronotum with dense tuft of thick setae on lateral margins extending from area adjacent to lateral antebasal foveae to pronotal base. Elytra with fringe of long, thick setae on posterior margins. Abdomen with discal carinae on visible tergite 1 (IV) strongly curved medially near base; 1-3 (IV-VI) progressively gently convex to flattened posteriorly; outer lobes of paratergites 1-2 (IV-V) no more than three times as long as wide. Males unknown. Female eyes with about 50 facets.
Eudranes okei has dense thick tufts of setae posterior to the eyes and on the basolateral pronotal margins, and the lateral lobes of paratergites 1-2 (IV-V) are nearly three times as wide as long.
